Description
The Guardian Warmer, an external heating device to warm enteral feedings for hospitalized infants, is designed to increase infant feeding tolerance while reducing the risks of associated with water bath milk warming. This program reviews the evidence supporting warmed feeds for low birth weight infants and provides step-by-step instructions for use and cleaning.
- An overall score of 70% or higher is required to receive credit for this course.
- Quiz may be taken more than once for an improved score.
- A certificate will be available after the completion of the course evaluation.
- This in-service training doesn't provide contining education credits.
Objectives
Upon completion of this program, the participant will be able to:
- Discuss at least three benefits to low birth weight infants of warming feedings with the Guardian Warmer.
- Identify the three components of the Guardian Warmer.
- Review how the Guardian Warmer safely heats milk for enteral feeds.
- Understand how to set up and use the Guardian Warmer
